Grimlet

" Not far, not near. Somewhere beyond the fog and past the tide, there drifts an island no map remembers.
A crumbling place where the trees whisper in languages long buried, and the wind hums lullabies to the lying bones.
They call it Whisperwoods, though no one can recall who named it first.
Here, the village rots gently beneath moss and moonlight, watched over by things that ought not to be seen.
And in the middle of it all, wanders Fenny.
A quiet, little thing with a veil of white, pretending to be a ghost, or maybe just hiding from being known.
Fenny is kind. Fenny is curious…
And Fenny listens to the witch who lives where no path dares to lead.
She tells him stories… Strange ones, sweet ones, the sort that sticks to you until your mind can exist.
But stories are hungry things…
And one day, the witch tells Fenny a new tale.
A tale about a hero.
One that begins with a favor… and ends where no tale should. "

A shy and innocent protagonist, clumsy in action but sincere in feeling. Fenny covers himself from head to toe with a dirty white veil, pretending to be a ghost. Haunted by grief, he would do anything to be with his lost beloved again. He seems unaware of the dangers around him, or perhaps he simply doesn’t care.

An old and enigmatic woman who lives in exile on the outskirts of the village. She spins fantastical stories for Fenny with a motherly tone, though something about her kindness feels... off. Her affection for him may not be as selfless as it seems.

A trembling turnip who spends his days staring into the lake, horrified by what he sees in his reflection. Timid, paranoid, and easily startled, Root is convinced the lake is watching him. And, probably, it is.

The village herbalist, a tall mantis-like creature with delicate hands and eyes that never blink. He’s unnervingly friendly and always helpful, especially to Fenny, for whom he seems to harbor a strange fondness. He offers herbs freely, but always watches a little too closely.

An ancient mushroom with a youthful voice and a head full of secrets. Silly at first glance, Riu is wiser than he lets on. He sees through others easily and speaks gently, even when the truths he tells are hard to hear.

Time gets mushy when you're made of fungus.
Very stylized. I like lighting (or lack thereof). The theme is good. The world building also.
The theme is clear. One gentle soul, one like you.a
fungus.
This is oh, so incredibly sad :( ths is the stuff I worry and think and feel about.... Whoever wrote the story and dialogue etc, this is genius.
Very sad vibes but that's not a bad thing, I think it's important even though it's painful. 10/10. Especially for a demo
